HIV has been vastly underrepresented in popular culture. As a result, even after 40 years of education the stigma around the disease is as prevalent as ever.
We searched through 236 episodes of Friends and 203 episodes of The Office (the 2 most streamed shows globally) to find scenes that could be reedited to create new episodes about HIV stigma and transmission.
We hired voice impersonators from across North America for every character in the show and lookalikes for each actor so we could replace dialogue and faces through innovative audio and post production. The result was new episodes showing the devastating impacts of HIV stigma.
